Mythological Pathways
Crete, one of the best known Greek islands and among the largest in the Mediterranean. Birthplace of the oldest western civilization known as Minoan, monuments of which have been preserved until today. For those wishing to explore nature in western Crete, it is a land which offers the visitor the change to develop-different kinds of cultural and entertainment activities combining adventure and excitement.
Majestic mountains from a backbone and in the west an abundance of summits reach over 2000m. Cutting though the mountains are labyrinth of gorges, the most famous and longest in Europe is the Samaria Gorge. The traveler will be immersed in rich flora and remarkable fauna when discovering the mythological pathways, which ancient times connected townships. Today, those same paths account for a part of the E4 International European Trekking Path.
Crete with astounding natural beauty, a wide variety of folklore, culture, traditions and arts, combined with the spontaneous hospitality of its inhabitants, will indeed encourage the visitor to partake in a game, full of new experiences and endless knowledge.
Yours faithfully,
